The Party!

Mason's party was Saturday night - he and the rest of kids had a lot of fun! A little stressful for me, but it was worth it. We started with pizza (his favorite food). We then played a game and even had a pinata! I put way too much candy in it for how many kids were there, but they didn't mind! Mason scored with the gifts...he is very spoiled! As you can see by the pictures, Mason chose a "Thomas" party. Kinda nerdy, but he insisted. I even got a Thomas cake (thanks to Albertson's). We were so glad his friends and family could come and celebrate his 3rd birthday!

Mason is 3!!

He's 3! I can't believe it. Time goes by way too fast! Anyway, he had a great birthday! We went to Jump Planet (ginormous inflatable bouncy toys). His cousins Jack and Laney came to celebrate. Grandma Jean came and Derek was also able to meet us there for a long lunch. They had so much fun! His birthday party with friends and family is Saturday, so I'll blog about that soon!
Murphy came too :)

Check ups

Mason had his 3 year check up and Reese had her 4 months check up today. Derek met me there to help out. We were there for an hour so I was glad he could get the time off work to help. So here's the update - Mason weighed 32 pounds (55%) and was 38 1/2 inches tall (75%). I was a little concerned because last year his was in the 90th percentile for height. Doctor said that is normal because instead of laying him down to measure him, he stands up now (apparently that makes a difference). So I guess that's okay....as long as he's 6' 3" when he's older :). He had one shot. He said "ouchie ouchie ouchie" and then was fine. Reese was 26 inches (97%) and weighed 14lbs (55%). She has gotten so long over the last two months!! She didn't like the three shots, but it was over quickly. In the end the doctor said they are both very healthy. I love to hear that. I just wanted to update those that would like know. These pictures were taken on 9/12/07. I think they turned out great!

Football Season....again

It's that time again. Yep, football season. The time of year when football is what we watch every Saturday, Sunday, Monday and sometimes Thursday night. When Derek can't even get through the front door before he turns on the TV. The time when he wears his football jersey with his church pants, because it takes to much time to change. This last Sunday it took him about an hour to get changed. I mean, he couldn't even miss 1 play! He's also obsessed with fantasy football. He's in a ESPN or yahoo league with my dad, my brothers, his dad, his brother and some other friends. I don't know if every guy takes it as serious as him, but the clip board with all of his players and keeping track of whatever he keeps track of, seems a little much. I think I'm going to start a new blog...WAFF (wives against fantasy football). I know I'm not the only wife that goes through this. Oh well, I knew this when I married him. I'm just glad the Dolphins aren't on TV every Sunday. He would be in heaven, I would be at my parents. Okay, I'm done complaining for the year.

A Day at the Fair!

On Saturday, Derek and I took the kids to the Evergreen State Fair. We had a such a great time...Mason had so much fun! He loved the animals and the rides. He went on the train ride with Derek and then went on some car rides and a motorcycle ride by himself. The motorcycle ride scared him at first, but he got used to it. The look on his face when it started was so sad. I just wanted to "save" him from his fear, but I didn't let him know that. He was fine after the first time around, but had a look of concentration the whole time - like he was really driving it! He loved petting the animals too. There was a mini horse, pigs and a baby calf that he could pet. Derek and I loved watching the look on Mason's face when he saw something he liked. I'm so glad we went and I'm sure we'll be doing it every year that we can. Mason talks about the fair everyday and at night I have to sing him songs about our day at the fair.
After a long day at the fair.
