Day 4 - McDonald's and A Transformer

The boys had McDonald's for lunch today. It was kind of a long morning, so I decided we needed something different for lunch. They weren't really that hungry I guess because the burger and nuggets were wasted. Fries are always the big hit in our family! The toy in the happy meal was a pirate boat. They played with them for about two minutes and then weren't interested anymore. They also got tattoos and had to have them on.

This afternoon, Mason went to the movies with his Grandma Anita (Derek's mom), so my Mom and I took Jack and Reese to Target. Mason liked "Horton Hears a Who". He also liked playing musical chairs in the theater...poor Grandma! Jack and Reese got to have snacks while Grandma Jean and I shopped. We let Jack pick out a toy and he picked one out for Mason too. After along time of trying to figure out what he wanted (we couldn't understand him), Grandma finally said "Transformers?" Jack beamed when she finally got it. I can't even remember what he called it, but it was so funny! Here are their new toys. They were almost impossible for me to turn back into a car, but I finally got it! Good thing because Jack wouldn't let it go until it was put back just the way he wanted it!!

Jack wanted to give a birthday shout out to his Dad!
Happy Birthday Dan!!

Sorry that I had to help him with what to say. This was probably take 20 on trying to get him to say anything at all! Do you like his audience in the background? Both my kids think Jack is so funny!!

Day 3 - Mario and Swimming

Today the boys decided that they were going to fight over the same toy. Not that they don't do this most days, but today they did it a lot. There were a few tears involved when one would take it away from the other (thankfully they don't hit each other). They were given several chances to share but the toy they were fighting over at the time would eventually end up on the top shelf. One toy in particular was a Mario remote control car. I did manage to get a few pictures of them before it was taken away.

How could these darling little faces be naughty?? One time today (when they were fighting over a toy), Mason says "you better take it away from us" How naughty is that!?!!

We also got to go swimming today! We wouldn't normally on a Sunday, but Derek's mom is in town and staying at the Westin in Bellevue. She invited us to go swimming in the hotel pool. They boys were so excited to go, they talked about it all day! We weren't sure if we could handle all three at the pool, but Derek's mom helped so it was a lot of fun. The boys were so brave and loved the water. Reese on the other hand, well she hated it. It was a little cold. We have never really seen her scared before so it was sad for us to see her like that. Once she was out of the water awhile she stopped crying and let Grandma hold her. Here are some pictures!

It's no Mexico, but they sure had fun!

Day 2 - Crayons and Jamba Juice

The boys woke up this morning and wanted to color! Mason has a jumbo coloring book that looked enticing to them. When they were finished they insisted on taping it to a wall. I've been keeping my camera close by for things like this. These pictures may be meaningless to some, but I know they mean the world to his mom!

This is a picture of my sister spoiling us! She left an envelope with information about their trip and these were in it too!! We decided to use the
Jamba Juice one this afternoon. We went to the new Jamba Juice inside the Safeway close to our house. After I had ordered I gave the kid my gift card and he told me they only take Safeway gift cards...HUH? Whatever, I suppose we'll have to go again later in the week!!

Reese let Jack ride in her car seat. I am sorry to him that it is pink. Frankly, I was too lazy to take out our other car seat out of Derek's car. At least I turned it facing forward!

Kacey, Jack is showing you his sprinkles on his ice cream. He said "I wanna show Momma this". So there you go!! We love him so much! He's happy and safe!

Day 1 - Toys and Snow

Today is our first full day with Jack (he was dropped off last night in time for bed). He has been a good boy and really happy! They have played pretty good together too. Don't get me wrong, there has been some fighting, but not bad fighting. Just two boys, 9 months apart fighting. They've played toys, had lots of snacks and played in the snow! Yep, snow on one of the last days in March! Cancun is sounding mighty nice right about now. Here some picture from our day.

Kacey, these are for you. I know this was hard on you, leaving your boy, but he is doing really good with us. The phone rang today and he said "It's my Dad" very matter of fact! I felt bad that it wasn't! Have fun in the sun!

Welcome Jack!

I'm watching my nephew Jack for the next 9 days while my sister Kacey and her husband Dan are on vacation in Cancun! I know it isn't going to be the easiest 9 days, but I really am happy to have him. I'm going to try and post something new everyday so they can see their boy and know that he is surviving living with us (Mason). He is such a sweet boy and loves to help me with Reese. We love him Kacey and I am so flattered that you trust me to take care of him while you're gone! I will treat him like my own...well maybe better than my own!

Vote For Reese!

Today is Reese's voting day for the Baby Idol (I blogged about it a few posts before) Click HERE and then go to the Baby Idol logo. You do have to sign up for there MVP program but you can opt out of getting the emails sent to you. Then goes to the R's. Scroll down past all the pictures until you find the list of names and click on Reese B. 9 months. There are a lot of Reese's (dang it) but mine of course is the cutest :) I realize there are 6000 babies to vote from, but I don't want my kid to have 5 from me and that's all! Oh and you can vote every ten minutes ( I know some of you are die hard voters)

Thanks guys!!

Easter Weekend

Here are some pictures of our busy Easter weekend. The only thing that I didn't take pictures of was Derek's birthday dinner at Maggiano's in Bellevue. We went with his friend (and assistant coach at LW) Don and his wife Robin. It was so nice to get away for a few hours without kids and socialize with adults!

Saturday morning (while Derek was at practice) we decorated eggs! As you can see, Mason had a blast!

Mason went to his very first primary activity Saturday afternoon. They made a Family Home Evening kit and then did an Easter egg hunt! He had so much fun!!

The kids got their baskets Sunday morning. They got lots of fun toys and a little candy. These pictures are so funny to me. Reese had just woken up and Mason's hair is totally bed head...borderline white trash.

They sure clean up nice! I had fun buying an Easter dress for Reese this year. It isn't exactly what I wanted but she was super cute. I was surpised that most (if not all) were sleevless. Are you kidding me?? It was pouring down rain and about 40 degrees Easter morning! She wore a sweater over it to church.

We had another Easter egg hunt before dinner Sunday night with all the cousins (that live here). They got TONS of candy!! Aunt Kacey even hid golden eggs with money in them!! Mason wants to buy a Wii with his money. I hope we can find one for $2.

We ended the night with cake!! Derek's favorite, yellow cake with chocolate frosting!

Just kidding, I'll be there in 18 months! I'm also sorry you have to work your entire birthday. We'll celebrate Saturday! Go kick some Mustang butt tonight!!! GO KANGS!
