I won!

Okay, so I might not have won a new Wii (you know who you are), or cup cakes and chic baby clothes (you also know who you are) but I won something so awesome and it totally made my day. My GREAT friend Shannon Wright made me the coolest thing ever. If you want to see it you'll have to go HERE and check out her blog. Maybe if you leave comments you could win something way cool too!! Thanks Shannon, you're the best!!!

All by myself!

Mason got his hair cut today. We always go to Bella & Max at Country Village. It's a children's boutique and it has a salon upstairs (it's absolutely the best). Anyway, when the kids are done they get a free ticket to go on the train. And when I say train, I mean a guy that drives a tractor with little coaches behind it. Mason loves it. Today he said "Mom, I don't want you to go with me because I'm too scared" HUH??? So I said "You want to go alone?" He said "Yes, because I'm almost four." I was happy not to go because I hate squeezing my fat butt in one of the seats and Reese was happy in the stroller. I only had my camera phone so sorry about the quality of the pictures (you can click on the photo to make them bigger).

This may sound stupid...but it's was so awesome to see my little guy so grown up. We walked down to see him driving around country village and I was almost emotionally seeing him alone. Not sad, but happy. I can't believe how big he's getting so fast! The smile on his face was different then I see everyday. It was pure excitement!

Sailor Hats

Derek got back yesterday from being in Colorado for 9 days...yes 9!!!! I don't know how we all survived but we did. By day 3, my kids were so sick of me and I had to think of something different for them to do. Mason had been bugging me for days to make sailor hats out of newspaper. I guess he'd seen it on Noggin or something. They played with these for hours! Who doesn't like cheap entertainment???

Backpack

I bought Reese this backpack last weekend at TJ Maxx. I was thinking she was too young for it but got it anyway to put her toys and books in when we go out of town this weekend. Little did I know she would LOVE it! She wears it around while she plays until I take it off of her for meals or naps. Love this little girl!

UNO!

I love that Mason can finally play a real game with us. He knows how to play and he's okay with losing (every once in a while). Every night when I say that it's time for bed he says "OHHH, but we forgot to play a couple rounds of Uno!" So now we play it every night before bed!
(FYI..we don't normally put our little man in shorts that short, but at bed time we kind of nerd out a little.)

Lame

Sorry about the lack of blogging lately. I have been REALLY lazy and haven't felt like it. I will be back shortly so please don't give up on me. It's been a slow July but our August is jam packed. Hopefully something blog worthy will come out of it. Till then, I hope you all survive without me.

T-Ball

After 3 weeks of practices, Mason had his very first T-ball game last night. Derek has been waiting for this day since the day we found out Mason was boy (a little over 4 years ago). Mason was so excited to play and his excitement continued through out the whole game. It's a little hard to watch 3 and 4 year old kids being told how to play baseball, but I got through it. They only get through 2 innings in the hour game, but everybody got to bat twice. Mason hit the ball twice and loved running the bases. Derek is the coach and he did a great job. He had it so organized that he batted 10 players in 9 minutes when it took the other team at least 25 minutes to bat 10 players. What else would you expect from a high school baseball coach! Here a few pictures from the game. I love this little man!

Pre game warm up with uncle Ryan. He is the only kid wearing baseball pants and cleats. Again...what else would you expect?

Pre game huddle. Very serious.

Derek has taught Mason to hit left handed. Mason knows no other way. He is getting used to hitting off the T again. He has has been hitting pitched ball for almost 2 years now so it was a change.

He played left field and first base. He loved getting all the balls thrown to him at first base. He did great too!

After a long hot game, he wanted to do the splits for the camera.

Bothell Parade

We have been going to the Bothell parade since I can remember. I love this tradition and it's even better now that I can take my own kids. But I had no idea how stressful it was to get the seats we wanted. You'd think it was the Seafair parade or something. I drove through downtown Bothell around 3pm on the 3rd and some losers were already setting up chairs...so I joined them. Then I had to worry all night that somebody was going to steal them or throw them aside. Nobody else worried, just me. I made Derek go with me around 9pm that night and check to see if they were still there, HE WAS SO ANNOYED! Anyway, it all worked out and we had a great time. It was totally worth it.

The sun came out a few times which was nice, but it made Mason sneeze.

This is how I had to keep Reese happy. Food. The girl loves food.

The Seafair Pirates come every year and this is how Mason handled it. They are loud and pretty scary for a 3 year old.

We hope everyone had a great day! We sure did!

THIS BIG!

Today I saw a spider in my bathroom the size of Reese's head. Really. It looked similar to this, but a lot bigger.
Seriously though, probably the size of a baseball and that was just the body. I can usually kill a spider with out any problems, but this would be like killing a mouse or something. THANKFULLY, Derek was still home and did the damage (with the closest thing he could find..a children's book). I've been pretty much creeped out the whole morning. My mom didn't help any by saying when there is one their mate is close by...thanks mom.
